About
The State Heating Oil and Propane Pricing Program (SHOPP) is a joint effort between the
U.S. Energy Information Administration and State Energy Offices to monitor local pricing for winter fuels—heating oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG, commonly referred to as propane). The Office of Energy Innovation conducts a weekly pricing survey of retailers from October through March. From April to September, pricing data are collected monthly.
These data are displayed as (1) statewide average weekly and monthly prices beginning in March 2002 through the present, (2) statewide winter (October to March) and calendar year averages, and (3) as graphs. Data are also collected for residential electric and natural gas prices and posted alongside heating oil and LPG.
