In 2009, the PSC commissioned the Energy Center of Wisconsin to research energy efficiency and analyze cost savings for energy efficiency program investments. The report, Energy Efficiency and Customer-Sited Renewable Resource Potential in Wisconsin for the years 2012 and 2018, addresses opportunities for electricity and natural gas savings across the residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural sectors.

The PSC will utilize the data in this report in the quadrennial planning process required in Act 141 and recommended by the Global Warming Task Force, particularly in Phase Two.  In Phase Two, set to begin sometime in September 2009, the PSC will set goals and priorities for the energy efficiency and renewable resource programs in the state.
