Data Collection

Broadband Coverage Data Collection

Starting in December 2018, the PSC will accept voluntary submittals of broadband coverage data from Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Coverage data will be used to provide:

  • Timely updates to the Wisconsin Broadband Map and other broadband mapping products
  • A better representation of ISP efforts to provide broadband across Wisconsin
  • More accurate analyses of statewide broadband deployment

How To Submit Coverage Data

Please contact the PSC at PSCBroadbandData@wisconsin.gov, if your company or other entity is interested in voluntarily sharing your FCC 477 coverage data (or its equivalent) for use in PSC maps and analyses. A member of the PSC's broadband mapping team will work with you to ensure your coverage data are mapped accurately for public use.

Data Collection Timeline

The PSC will collect coverage data on an ongoing basis. To have your ISP's coverage data online through the Wisconsin Broadband Map as quickly as possible, please submit coverage data by December 31, 2018. Data received by this date will be featured on PSC maps by the end of January 2019. In conjunction with the FCC's Form 477 data releases, the PSC anticipates updating maps on the following schedule:
