Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Local Planning Grant Program

​Overview

The Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Local Planning Grant enables eligible entities to opt-in to receive formula funding to participate in broadband planning activities that will inform the state Five-Year Action Plan which will guide broadband deployment and implementation of the BEAD program. 

The Commission seeks to gain insight into each local community’s vision for broadband development. Local plans may include outreach initiatives, conducting local needs assessment and developing local or regional broadband plans.​

Who is eligible to apply

​Eligible applicants for the BEAD Local Planning Grant formula funding include Wisconsin counties and federally recognized Tribes. Eligible regional groups include the nine Wisconsin Regional Economic Development Organizations as well as the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council.​
