Telemedicine Grant Program
The Telemedicine Grant Program is a Universal Service Fund grant program provides funding to nonprofit medical clinics and public health agencies to purchase telecommunications equipment. The Commission awarded $422,427 in grants for FY2008 and $500,000 in grants for FY2009. Hospitals, medical clinics and county health agencies across the state received these awards to purchase equipment that improves access to health care in the state.
The Application Guidelines, cover form and budget form for the previous fiscal year can be accessed below. Important items
in the Guidelines to note include:
- Applicant must be a nonprofit medical clinic or hospital that is governed by a board of directors,
serves federally designated health professional areas, medically underserved areas, or medically
underserved populations or is a public health agency.
- Purchase of the telecommunications equipment must promote technologically
advanced medical services, enhance access to medical care in rural
or undeserved areas of the state, or enhance access to medical
care to underserved populations or persons with disabilities in
the state.
