Broadband Expansion Grant Program

Broadband Grant Applications for FY 2017
The Broadband Expansion Grant program provides reimbursement for equipment and construction expenses incurred to extend or improve broadband telecommunications service in underserved areas of the state.  In Fiscal Year 2017 the Commission may award one or more grants that, in aggregate, do not exceed $1,500,000 to public and private entities that meet the eligibility requirements.

An application for a grant may be submitted by any of the following entities:

  1. An organization operated for profit or not for profit, including a cooperative.
  2. A telecommunications utility.
  3. A city, village, town, or county that has established a legal partnership or joint venture arrangement with an otherwise qualified organization or telecommunications utility.

Comments on the Grant Applications
The application period for FY 2017 Broadband Expansion Grants is now closed. Public comments on those applications will be accepted through July 8, 2016, at 4 p.m. Interested persons may file comments under "FY 2017 Broadband Expansion Grants". More detailed instruction on how to file public comments is available here.

Grant Writing Workshops
