Customer-Sited Electric Generating Facilities
If you are an electric customer and you wish to install an electric generating facility, you may qualify
for certain buy-back rates offered by your electric provider. Net metering (also known as net energy
billing) is available in Wisconsin for investor-owned utility and municipal utility customers who wish to
install an electric generator 20 kilowatts or less in size. Electric providers may also offer
other buy-back rates for electricity produced by a customer-owned facility that
vary by technology and system size.
