Comment:
Dear members of the PSC'

It is outrageous that as we face a planetary crisis of global warming and climate change due to excessive fossil fuel emissions, Wisconsin's electric utilities are not moving rapidly toward renewable energy production. WE Energy has basically shut down their renewable energy program. Now they are trying to make it more expensive and difficult for its customers to move toward renewable energy.

We are far behind other developed countries in moving away from electrical energy generated by fossil fuel. Even the states surrounding Wisconsin are now way ahead of us in renewable energy development.

I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. I try to conserve energy. I turn off my lights when not in use. I unplug appliances that are not in use. I hang my clothes out to dry six months a year. I keep by thermostat at 65 degrees in the winter. I was considering having my home evaluated for photovoltaic solar panels. Now my electric company wants to charge me more for a monthly flat connection fee and make it much more expensive to put solar panels on my house.

I ask that you deny the electric power utilities in this state the anti-clean energy rate increases that they are requesting. Do not let them punish clean energy and low income customers. For-profit utilities that are meant to serve the public good must be kept in check by commissions such as yours whose role is to protect the public's interest, not the corporation's profits.

I affirm that these comments are true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief.
