The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin issued a final version of "Energy 2022," Wisconsin's biennial, statutorily-required, strategic energy assessment. Based on data and information collected in 2015 from Wisconsin utilities and power cooperatives, "Energy 2022" evaluates the state's current and future energy demands, how those demands will be met, and the reliability of the electrical system over the next seven years. The Wisconsin State Broadband Office is pleased to announce a survey that allows residents and businesses the opportunity to voice their need for improved internet access or service. The goal of the survey is to help state planners and policy makers better understand the need for improved internet access in our state. More information can be found here.
Governor Walker announced the official launch of Wisconsin's Broadband Forward! Community Certification Program. This program coordinates and streamlines administrative procedures for the deployment of next generation broadband technologies by providing a new "Broadband Forward! Community" designation for units of local government who wish to participate. More information can be found here.
After a successful initial deployment phase with the PSC Hearing broadcast, the PSC Open Meeting broadcast has been switched to the new broadcast system. With this new system, the PSC is now able to provide wider desktop browser support and increased mobile device support when viewing hearings and open meeting. The PSC recently released a Report on the Impacts of the Renewable Portfolio Standard, which estimates rate impacts of the RPS for 2013 and 2014. The report and associated documents can be found in PSC docket 5-GF-262.
